Family say Mackenzie Eagles has been found safe after being missing for three weeks.
The 15-year-old was reported missing from her grandfather’s home in Enfield, N.S., on Sept. 23.
Her bicycle and helmet were found on Oct. 1, along Highway 102 between Halifax Stanfield International Airport and Enfield.
However, there was no indication that Mackenzie was involved in any type of collision.
Kelly Eagles, Mackenzie’s mother, says she received a phone call from her daughter shortly before 10 a.m. on Saturday.
“Definitely a sigh of relief,” Eagles told Global News shortly after her daughter contacted her.
Mackenzie is now with RCMP officers and her mother says she will be getting help for whatever issues she is coping with.
Eagles says her daughter was located in Dartmouth and it’s believed she was in the Halifax Regional Municipality for the last three weeks.
“The big thing is I want to say thank you to everybody. Everybody who went out there and distributed posters, went out and talked to everybody. I think that was really what pushed her to come home so it was awesome,” said Eagles.
